THE SHOP: Founded in 2004 in Highgate , north London . Second Nature moved to its new premises at 79 Fortis Green Road in Muswell Hill in 2006. Originally a horticultural shop specialising in garden antiques and rare plants, Second Nature has evolved into a unique shop, offering for sale , a covetable mix of beauty and absurdity . Antiques, curios, stationery , gifts and fragrances , usually with a natural history theme. Plants still feature and are for sale outside the shop, creating a beautiful entrance to the delights within.

THE OWNER: Originally from the beautiful county of Northumberland, owner Richard Parker has always had a love of natural history. Initially studying design at Camberwell school of art , his career has ranged from , designing ceramics, book illustration and award winning designs at Chelsea flower show and work for top stores including Liberty London, Selfridges and Bergdorf Goodman in New York. Richard now divides his time between London and the north east , sourcing the beautiful and unusual for the shop and also for private clients.
